Foodwell Alliance expanding Compost Connectors program into seven more Gwinnett schools - Gwinnett Daily Post

Lilburn Elementary School fifth-grader Cynthia Turner had an unconventional reaction when she learned a food audit revealed an average of 600 pounds of food is wasted at the school each day because it goes unused.

She was, surprisingly, excited to hear it.

The excitement was not joy to hear food was being wasted, however. It came from realizing she had a mission to accomplish to help curb that number or at least find a way to turn that wasted food into a benefit for the community.
