Are you looking to find your green thumb and deepen your gardening expertise? Food Well Alliance and Atlanta Botanical Garden are continuing Plant. Eat. Repeat. through in-person and live virtual workshops! Each workshop includes expert tips and tricks on a specific gardening topic to help you grow food.

The spring series of Plant. Eat. Repeat. is over, but check back in for updates on our summers series all about the basics of soil health!

2024 Episodes

This year, Plant. Eat. Repeat. will cover one garden-related topic repeated at various community gardens around metro Atlanta.

Vermicopmosting: This spring, Plant. Eat. Repeat. will focus on the exciting world of home composting! Learn the basics of vermicomposting and discover how easy it is to transform food scraps and organic waste into nutrient-rich fertilizer for your plants.


2023 Episodes

Growing Herbs for Tea: Our spring series focused on growing herbs for tea! The workshop covered 3-4 plants/herbs commonly grown for teas, how to grow and care for them as well as how to harvest and brew.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Tomato hornworms tearing through your heirlooms? Cucumber Beetles cutting through your cucurbits? Worry no more! Our summer workshop series covered the basics of Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

Fruit Tree Pruning & Maintenance: We'll cut right to it - pruning can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be! In this workshop we will get to the root of how to care for fruit and nut trees native to the southeast and help you produce healthier plants.


2022 Episodes

This year our workshops with Atlanta Botanical Garden will be a little different. Each season will cover one garden-related topic repeated at various community gardens around metro Atlanta. That way, you can join us in a garden near you!

Digging Into Soil: Learn how to test your soil using test kits you can find at your local garden center and kits that you can send to the County Extension.

DIY Hydroponics System: The amazing Moe Hemming covers all things hydroponics and walks through how to build your own DIY system with easy-to-find materials.

Seed-Saving Basics: Seed saving is a great way to preserve heirloom seeds and share your favorite varieties with other gardeners. Workshop participants will learn about saving seeds from common garden vegetables.


Fall 2021 Episodes

Pollinator Attracting Plants at The Preserve: We’re talking about pollinator-attracting plants. You’ll learn about some of the most popular types of plants, how to care for them, and why pollinator-attracting plants are so important.

Using an Olla/Oya at The Bridge at Austin Community Garden: This video overs everything about the subirrigation system called Olla/Oya. Moe Hemmings will teach you how to create your own version and how to use them.

Edible Perennials at Stone Mountain Community Garden: Fall is the perfect time to plant your edible perennials. Learn why in this video. You’ll also learn about some different varieties of edible perennials, how to plant them, and how to care for them.

Composting Best Practices at Historic Mableton Community Garden: Interested in learning more about composting? Then this video is for you! Find out more about what you can and can’t put in your compost and how to care for your compost system whether it’s in a home or community garden.
