In January 2026, the Cities of Chattahoochee Hills and Palmetto were selected to develop metro Atlanta's sixth Local Food System Plan (formerly City Agriculture Plan), and the first multi-city planning process in the program.
In partnership with the Atlanta Regional Commission and Food Well Alliance, this plan will incorporate resident feedback to shape policy and program recommendations that strengthen the city’s local food system over the next 3-5 years. Each plan is funded by a $100,000 implementation grant package from Food Well Alliance.
Your voice is critical in shaping the priorities of the plan. Join Food Well and local food leaders in a conversation about what issues and opportunities need to be addressed in this plan! Topics include:
Expanding access to local food and growing spaces
Strengthening educational programs and growing resources for youth and adults
Recommending city policies to better support local growing opportunities
Supporting soil health and pollinators
