TLW is hiring! There are seeking talented and committed individuals to join in their work.

Currently have the following positions available:

Part-time Accountant: The Accountant has the primary responsibility for bookkeeping to ensure proper accounting of all financial transactions. The Accountant will maintain financial records and manage payroll and accounts payable and receivable. In addition, the Accountant will work closely with TLW leadership to produce monthly and annual financial reports.

AmeriCorps VISTA Opportunities:

AmeriCorps VISTA members are passionate and committed to their mission to bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Members make a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization. At Truly Living Well, members will focus efforts to build organizational, administrative, and financial capacity to increase food access and otherwise assist low-income communities.

AmeriCorps VISTA is open to all U.S. citizens age 18 and older. VISTAs receive modest living allowances, health benefits, childcare, and other benefits. After successful completion of a term of service, members can choose to receive an education award or post-service stipend. The following positions are open at TLW! 2016-2017 positions and project areas:

Community Engagement: VISTA member will work to engage the community in solutions to alleviate long-term hunger and create access to healthy food through urban agriculture. VISTA will help to firmly establish Collegetown Farm and Education Center in Atlanta’s Westside Community as TLW’s new demonstration site for urban agriculture. VISTA will serve as liaison to build capacity for programming, volunteerism, agri-tourism and food security.

Food Co-op Organizer: The VISTA member will work to alleviate long-term hunger and create access to healthy food for low-income and low-resource families and seniors living in metro Atlanta. The VISTA will develop collaborations and indentify resources to help create sustainable client-run Food Co-ops. The model will include fresh and healthy foods as well as food products. The VISTA will provide training and support to strengthen existing co-ops and develop new ones during the year of service.

Volunteer Engagement: The VISTA member will increase our capacity to effectively increase TLW’s capacity to effectively recruit, retain and manage new volunteers at Collegetown Farm.

Social Enterprise and Development: The VISTA will work to establish new contacts and partnerships to increase development opportunities. VISTA will implement activities to improve and manage processes to evaluate, measure and document activities and impact. Also the VISTA will help to develop social enterprise strategies to create revenue and support TLW’s mission.

Education/Outreach Coordinator: The VISTA will increase receptivity to gardening as a source of affordable produce and lifelong exercise. VIST will promote nutritional benefits of eating fruits and vegetables and ways to make healthier food choices. VISTA will conduct workshops, trainings and info sessions in a variety of settings.
