The Omnivore's Dilemma: Book Discussion & Documentary Screening

  • Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons Room 423 266 4th Street Northwest Atlanta, GA, 30313 United States (map)

The Serve-Learn-Sustain Summer Book Club will be hosting an interactive discussion on industrial agriculture vs. local food systems, and the environmental and social implications of our food choices.

Food Well Alliance will explain about Atlanta's own local food system, and will moderate a discussion of concepts presented in the book "The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals," by Michael Pollan.

This public event is open to anyone interested (even if you haven't read the book). After the discussion, we will settle in to watch a documentary about a sustainable farm featured in the book: "Polyfaces".

This will be a potluck event (in honor of the book and the "slow food" movement) so please bring a dish to share! Additional refreshments will be provided as well.
