In celebration of Earth Day, Food Well Alliance is giving away free compost to all gardeners! Whether you are growing food in your backyard, have a bed at a community garden or operate a farm, all growers are welcome to stop by on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 to pick up what you need to get your spring garden started. Bring your shovels, bags, buckets, and trucks to load up on compost. We’ll also have bags available in case you need them.

Compost will be located outside in the parking lot of 970 Jefferson Street NW and available to collect at your convenience from 10 am - 3 pm on both Friday and Saturday.

Interested in volunteering? Come support our Earth Day Compost Giveaway! Volunteers will help fill compost bags for easy distribution, assist with greeting visitors and loading vehicles. Volunteers are also invited to leave with some compost of their own! Plus, to celebrate the end of Volunteer Appreciation Week, we will have a special table set up with snacks, coffee, and tea to show our appreciation.
