Concrete Jungle's Spectacular Fruit Ramble

  • Neighborhood Church 1561 McLendon Avenue Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30307 United States (map)

On Saturday, May 13th from 3–7 p.m, Concrete Jungle hosts their largest annual event, the Spectacular Fruit Ramble, to explore the varieties of edible fruit growing in the city of Atlanta. This event is a kickoff to fruit season and also begins the volunteer season for Concrete Jungle.

The Fruit Ramble begins at Neighborhood Church across from Candler Park, where guests will check in and begin the exploration via a walking and biking tour of the neighborhood. Ramble attendees will enjoy an educational afternoon learning about the city’s fruit trees and sampling a few of the fruits along the path.

After touring the neighborhood, ramblers will return to the venue for a zany, fruity themed carnival. Think lasso-ing fruit worms from massive tomatoes, catching falling "fruit" from PVC trees, or testing your fruit smelling skills

The Concrete Jungle team will serve as guides for the afternoon and can also provide info on upcoming volunteer opportunities for Atlantans to get involved with their mission of getting fresh produce in the city to hunger relief organizations. This event is open to all ages and will be family-friendly. Whether you're a Concrete Jungle newbie or an old friend – whether you're a fruit novice or an expert – come learn, come play, come eat!
