City of East Point Community Compost Pilot Program with CompostNow

The East Point Community Compost Program began in July 2023 and allows residents to drop-off their food scraps to stations located around the city. Residents must complete an orientation first, which provides information about what can be composted through the program and the drop-off process. The scraps are then collected from the stations by CompostNow, who will transform the waste into nutrient-rich compost for local BIPOC farm and garden partners in East Point. The program’s goal is to educate the community around composting, build local systems for cycling nutrients back into the soil, and create equitable opportunities for our local growers who provide fresh, healthy food to communities.
