Seeds of Resilience

Seeds of Resilience is a series of short documentaries bringing the experiences of Black agrarians in Atlanta to the forefront. Through open dialogue, growers examine socio-historical impacts on urban agriculture, exchange generational wisdom, and offer a deeper understanding of the investments they make into building healthier communities.

Season 2

Seeds of Resilience: Asa and EliYahu Ysrael (S2E1)

In the season 2 premiere of Seeds of Resilience, Asa & EliYahu Ysrael of Atlanta Harvest reflect on the importance of growing their faith, their family, and healthy food.

Seeds of Resilience: Chef Zu and Yolanda Owens (S2E2)

This episode features Chef Zu of Kings Apron and Yolanda Owens, founder of IWI Fresh. They discuss their journeys of starting businesses, tapping into the Black growing space and why supporting Black growers is so important to them.

Seeds of Resilience: Tenisio Seanima and J. Olu Baiyewu (S2E3)

Episode 3 of season 2 features Tenisio Seanima and J. Olu Baiyewu, who discuss some of the ways they're helping integrate urban agriculture in Atlanta, share generational wisdom, and examine socio-historical impacts on urban agriculture.

Episode 1 features Jamila Norman and Eva Dickerson, who discuss the longevity of Black women farmers in metro Atlanta and embodying the student-teacher relationship.

Seeds of Resilience: Filomena DeAndrade and Haylene Green (S1E2)

Episode 2 features Filomena DeAndrade and Ms. Haylene Green the Garden Queen, who discuss their journey to Atlanta and how they use local food to build community and teach people about love and resilience.

Seeds of Resilience: Andrea Blanton and Khari Diop (S1E3)

Episode 3 features Andrea Blanton and Khari Diop, who discuss how working in the soil cultivates abundance in their lives and love.

Seeds of Resilience: Ras Kofi and Brother Holmes (S1E4)

Episode 4 features Ras Kofi and Brother Holmes, who discuss the revolutionary act of finding joy amidst the waves of grief we continue to consume and explore the alchemy of seeds finding light after the darkness.
