Composting Systems & Soil Deliveries

Food Well Alliance knows that at the core of healthy food production in metro Atlanta, is healthy soil. Over the last year, we have been ensuring that community gardens have the tools they need to produce their own compost on-site and that urban farms have access to high quality, affordable compost for food production.

How Does it Work?

  • Community gardens can apply for a 3-bin “Compost Knox” community composting system. We will provide the materials and bring volunteers to help construct the system on site.

  • Urban farms can apply for bulk compost delivery straight to their farm.

  • As a “garden partner” of CompostNow, customers can opt to donate their finished compost to Food Well Alliance. We distribute this locally-produced compost to urban farms across metro Atlanta. Find out more at

Eligibility & Criteria

  • Urban farms and community gardens must be located in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties.

  • Urban farms and community gardens must provide proof of land ownership, lease agreement, or other documented agreement.

We will be announcing our next round of compost system and delivery grants in January 2020.
