As one of Food Well Alliance's local food grant applicants, we thought you would be interested in two different grant opportunities from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that seek to support the development and expansion of local and regional food through business enterprises, domestic consumption, local food access and market opportunities for farm and ranch operations.
The Farmers Market Promotion Program and the Local Food Promotion Program are unique in that you can apply for either a "planning" or "implementation" grant depending the stage of your project idea.

Have a great idea but not sure it will work? You can apply for the "planning" project for either Farmers Market Promotionor Local Food Promotion to complete market research, feasibility studies or business planning for
$5,000 - $25,000.
Have you already completed your plan and are now ready to get started? You can apply for the "implementation" project for $25,000 - $100,000.
