World Soil Day, held annually December 5, celebrates the importance of soil as a critical component of the natural system and as a vital contributor to the human commonwealth through its contribution to food, water and energy security and as a mitigator of biodiversity loss and climate change. It is a day to advocate the importance of soil for human survival and promote its sustainable management.
The local food movement is ever growing thanks to the individuals and organizations that we fondly call our opportunity makers, who host events for improving access to local foods. Submit your events related to metro Atlanta's local food system below.
