The local food movement is ever growing thanks to the individuals and organizations that we fondly call our opportunity makers, who host events for improving access to local foods. Submit your events related to metro Atlanta's local food system below.

Picnic in the Park

  • Historic Fouth Ward Park (map)

Join Wholesome Wave Georgia on May 6 for a Sunday afternoon picnic curated by some of Atlanta's favorite chefs!

Grab a blanket and basket to share with friends and savor a three-course, chef-created meal while enjoying live music, dancing, and games.

This annual event aims to raise funds for Wholesome Wave Georgia and community awareness in support of the 1.6 million Georgians who are food-insecure and receive Federal Nutrition Assistance (FNA) benefits. Wholesome Wave Georgia aims to provide low-income and food-insecure families with access to fresh, wholesome and locally-grown food by matching their FNA benefits (i.e. SNAP/EBT or WIC) dollar-for-dollar at local farmers markets. Our mission puts more fresh food on the table for these families in need and provides more revenue for small business Georgia farmers.

Tickets are $35 for a basket for two and $70 for a basket for four.
Beer and wine open bar tickets are an additional $5 each.
